In the 2014/2015 season West Ham hit the ground running under Sam Allardyce and then new signing Diafra Sakho impressed against big clubs such as Liverpool and Manchester City. By the time Christmas rolled around West Ham where 4th in the table and many fans expected the irons to carry on their great form and maintain a place for Europe but after no activity in the January transfer window West Ham’s season came crumbling down around them teams like Arsenal started to pick up their season and West Ham’s went in the completely wrong direction, after all this it began speculation of Sam Allardyce’s future at the London based football club with many fans calling for the owners to sack Allardyce this caused for a major dip in form within the team this showed when West Ham crashed out of the FA Cup after a 4-0 loss to West Brom which made West Ham co owner David Sullivan to storm out of the game early along with many fans that shouted and taunted Sullivan to sack Allardyce the fans wishes where granted 3 minutes after the last game of the season when the club announced Sam will not be offered a new contract, West Ham did qualify for the Europa League through the fair play league after finishing 12th. After sacking Sam Allardyce West Ham needed to look for a new man to take charge of the last season at The Boleyn Ground, Rafa Benitez looked to be the new man in charge until Real Madrid came knocking at his door this began links with former Dortmund manager Jurgen Klopp until he announced that he was taking a break from management, Former West Ham defender Slaven Bilic declared his interest in the job and then the owners knew their pick for the new manager. The announcement for the manager seemed to take forever for the West Ham faithful but Slaven was finally announced. With Birmingham City’s first choice goal keeper Darren Randolph joining West Ham before Bilic’s arrival more players started to follow suit after his arrival some arguably world class. West Ham have pulled off a major coup by landing Dimitri Payet from Marseille in a £10.7 million deal, with the Frenchman one of Ligue 1’s deadliest players last season, The 28-year-old created more chances than any other player in Europe’s top five leagues last year and looks set to add a new edge to the Hammers’ attacking midfield. Spain under 21 star Pedro Obiang also joined West Ham for 4.3 million pound from Sampadoria the box to box midfielder looks to bring his pace and flair to east London and impress his new fans. Juventus centre back Angelo Ogbonna joined the east London club for a reported sum of 6 million pound despite amid interest from Everton Angelo will bring his quality and composure to West Ham’s defence. Arsenal right back Carl Jenkinson joined the hammers on loan for the second season running he joins back up with the squad after signing a new deal with Arsenal but Slaven Bilic remains faithful that he will be able to snap up Carl after his loan spell. The final piece of West Ham’s transfer business so far is the loan signing of Manuel Lanzini the Argentinian wide midfielder nicknamed ‘The Jewel’ had been part of Slaven Bilic’s plans for some time even back to when he was Besiktas manager Possible Transfer Targets: Alex Song: The Barcelona midfielder who was on loan with West Ham last season proved to be a big hit with the West Ham faithful despite being poor since Christmas many reports are suggesting that Barcelona have agreed to sell Alex Song to West Ham for free which would be a class deal for West Ham Kevin Mirralas: The versatile Belgian winger has been linked to West Ham for some time now and many reports suggest that West Ham have had 2 bids rejected under 10 million pounds Kevin would add skill and lots of pace to this West Ham team Yannick Bolasie: This pacey, tricky winger just won’t stop improving for Crystal Palace and he has now attracted interest from Tottenham, West Ham and Aston Villa, highlighting his ability. Whilst it would be a very good signing for West Ham, it would work out quite expensive for them, but it will definitely be worth the risk as he would add creativeness, skill and goals to this already impressive West Ham team Charlie Austin: The 26 year old has turned out to be a prolific goal scorer for Queens Park Rangers even in a very poor side would be a sensational addition to the West Ham Squad bringing goals with Austin’s goal scoring abilities it would be perfect for him and Dimitri Payet to link up alongside Diafra Sakho Javier Hernandez: Hernandez would be a perfect addition to the squad and could make the difference for West Ham in the Europa League due to his experience in European competitions the cool goal scorer would bring his goal scoring expertise to a side that seemed to lack it in the second half of last season Key Player This upcoming season West Ham’s has to be their main signing Dimitri Payet he will only benefit the players around him and I can only see Diafra Sakho improving with Payet’s creativeness and flair. The Frenchmen will also bring goals to the team him self with his impressive finishing and speciality in set pieces. Predicted Finish To finish 8th in the Premier League.
