According to Sky Sports, Bristol City have had a bid of £6million, plus add-ons, accepted by Crystal Palace for striker Dwight Gayle, 25.
Gayle, who scored 10 goals in all competitions for Palace last season, looks set to leave for the Robins if he can agree personal terms and pass a medical.
The pacey forward joined the Eagles from Peterborough for a reported fee of £4.5million in 2013 and has gone on to play 55 times for the South London club scoring 18 goals altogether.
Bristol City currently just have 18 senior players in their squad so if they could capture the signing of Gayle, it would bolster their options in attack.
Steve Cotterill, the City manager, has recently signed forwards Callum Robinson (on loan from Aston Villa) and Jonathan Kodjia (around £2million from French side Angers). Kodjia scored 15 goals in Ligue 2 last season.
Gayle has scored 78 goals in his career from 158 appearances.
