Liverpool will be hoping to extend their unbeaten campaign of 2015/16 through gameweek 3 at the Emirates on Monday, whilst Arsenal will be looking to build on their win at Selhurst Park.
When the two sides met back in April, Arsenal ran out winners in a dramatic encounter with the score line reading 4-1, Liverpool only getting a goal through a Jordan Henderson penalty. The Merseysiders will be going to North London in hope of avenging their rather embarrassing defeat, and breaking the duck against the Gunners, which has seen them win once in 15 years in London.
Following a busy summer on Merseyside and a less so one in London, the playing field has leveled, but the home team are still expected to have the upper hand over the unsettled visitors.
Alexis Sanchez and Olivier Giroud are expected to start for Arsenal, and Roberto Firmino will be hoping to make his full debut on Monday night. Meanwhile Jordan Henderson will be struggling to get into the starting eleven after receiving a knock in Liverpool’s controversial encounter with Bournemouth.
Both sides will have to be at their best to get more than a single point from the fixture, and both teams will be hoping to get ahead in the top 4 race, or for some, even a title race.
Predicition: Arsenal 1-1 Liverpool (Sanchez, Benteke)
