Norwich have officially completed the signing of Everton and former Rangers forward, Steven Naismith for an undisclosed fee.
The Scottish international made his switch to the Premier League back in July 2012, when he was re-united with his former Rangers team-mate Nikica Jelavic at Everton Since his move he has picked up over a 100 appearances for the club scoring on 18 occasions for the Merseyside club. The 41 time capped Scottish international becomes City’s 5th signing in this window.
According to various sources, it seems the Naismith deal is thought to be in the region of £8 million with some sources suggesting that this deal will increase if Norwich are to survive this season. Naismith had been linked with a move to the Norfolk club in the closing days of last summers transfer window, although an agreement could not be met between the two clubs.
“Norwich have displayed class in the way they’ve done their business all the way through. They’ve shown how much they wanted me, which is great, and I’m delighted to be here.”-Steven Naismith, www.canaries.co.uk
Alex Neil and Naismith have had previous as shown in this video, but it seems for now they have put their past behind them and both hope to work towards keeping Norwich FC up this season.
Social Media Reaction:
Normally pessimistic on new signings, but I genuinely think we've signed a top player in Naismith. Great to see #NCFC making a statement.

I think #Naismith is an awesome purchase by #NCFC but now what are the media going to talk about with 12 days left of the transfer window ?

~8.5m for Naismith. Great business when u consider: Grabban 8.5m, Afobe 11m, McCormack 11m, Grey 9m. Borini 10m. It's the going rate #ncfc
