As an avid FIFA player, one of the most exciting times of the year is arguably Team of The Season. But this is one of the most difficult decision’s in a season. Factors that influence it include, who has actually performed well, what team you support and who actually deserves to be in it. with between 8-9 games to go in the league, I believe that the team of the year is almost set and only extremely poor ends to the season can impact it.
After @Chuboi (Twitch Streamer) created a team with his and his viewers TOTS (Team of the Season) I thought it would be interesting to compare his team to mine.

To start off those FIFA cards look really nice and if some of the ratings come true, a lot of money could be spent. To start with in goal Chu and his viewers decided to put Arsenal’s Petr Cech, As a Gunner myself I completely agree this man has been a point saving machine for Arsenal and we could be in a worse position than we already are. For this reason, I would stick with him in goal despite cases from Jack Butland and Kasper Schmeichel.
I’m going to go from Right to Left now and going for the formation of 3-4-1-2.
Robert Huth for me is the only defender that has to be in the team of the season, the big german has been a vital part of Leicester’s title surge appearing in 29 games all in the League contributing 3 goals. The big Centre back has had 6 shots all season with all 6 on target. Having not been sent off and only earning 7 yellow cards he has been a key figure in the heart of defence since arriving from Stoke City.
The next defender for me is going to be Toby Alderwireled, Belgium’s centre back had unsuccessful spells with Athletico Madrid before coming to the Premier League and he really showed his quality this season topping all fantasy football rankings as the top defender. In an injury-hit season for Spurs defenders, he has been a consistent player to step up and put in performance after performance and one he will remember is scoring the equaliser against Arsenal at White Hart Lane.
My final defender isn’t a Centre Back, he actually plays left back for Arsenal. You might say I’m biassed as a fan of the club but Nacho Monreal’s performances have been sensational this season. The previous seasons battles between himself and Kieron Gibbs were a very even affair but now there is no doubt about Monreal he is defiantly a starting LB and for me the best left back in the league. As a diverse player, he has played at Centre back for Arsenal.
Again right to left for the midfield four.
My Right Midfielder is Willian the Chelsea winger has been by far their best player this season. Obviously, we all know how well the Blue’s have done this season but Willian has been the bright spark this season scoring 4 goals and grabbing 5 assists in the league this season. Although his stats aren’t the best he has been phenomenal in is performances for Chelsea and if the whole squad improves next year then he is going to have one amazing season.
Two central midfielders this season have been standing out above the rest and the first is Leicester’s N’golo Kante, 4 years ago this man was playing in Frances 8th tier of football and now he has been arguably the best midfielder this season. N’golo hasn’t got the best of starts, scoring once with 3 assists but I don’t think anyone can argue how good of a holding midfielder this man is.
To partner him is another Arsenal Player Mesut Ozil. Our saviour at points this season has arguably been on the best form of his life. with 18 assists and 5 goals in the league this season, no one is doubting his ability and for me is the best creative midfielder in the league.
In left midfield Riyad Mahrez is no doubt in everyone’s TOTS and mine is no different the Algerian midfielder has been a creative spark and a goal machine for the Foxes this season. I mean 15 goals and 11 assists from midfield are remarkable. The record Speaks for itself.
Attacking Midfield is a controversial one with Liverpool’s Roberto Firmino. The Brazilian and Liverpool CAM haven’t had the most decorated seasons although getting to the Capital One Cup final but he has been sensational in the turn of the year. After a slow start, he has soon come into his own scoring 8 goals and 7 assists this season, not the best again but his work rate and effort has really shone through this season.
Upfront is an easy decision and it goes to Vardy and Lukaku both scoring goals for fun this seasons showing the likes of Aguero and Diego Costa how to do it this season. This a good sign for both Nations involved as the Euros are coming and need strikers to fire them into the final.
So Here is the team in full. Any players that should or shouldn’t be here, comment down below or Tweet me or TFF at
