In the first match of Group D, Turkey will play Croatia at the Parc des Princes in Paris. For both teams, a win will be vital to improving chances of qualification, as matches against Spain and the Czech Republic are likely to be much more difficult.
Both teams go into the match in very good form, with both Turkey and Croatia only suffering one loss in their previous 10 games. Turkey coach Fatih Terim described the occasion as vital, saying that Turkey’s main priority was to get out of the group. In regards to Turkish wonder kid Emre Mor, Terim described him as “extraordinary” and said he would develop into a “world-class player”.
In regards, to Croatia, coach Ante Čačić said his squad was “perfect”. Čačić said his tactics were prepared to face Turkey, and he too said that 3 points were vital in the match.
