17th minute: Matel is selfish, shooting from an outrageous position and the crowd give a boo as they didn’t approve.

20th minute: Been a scrapy game so far as it’s still goalless 20minutes in with neither side having a good chance.

23rd minute: Massive chance for Lenjani who had an open goal from six yards out, the ‘keeper was on the floor and that was their best chance by far to get their first goal in a major tournament.

76th minute: Huge chance for Romania hitting the bar left the keeper with no chance if it was on target.

83rd minute: Albania captain Cana is coming on and he will be their to just keep hold on the lead and keep the defence strong and not to be bullied.

88th minute: Albania are pressing into the Romania half which is giving them chances and corners but they can’t create anything substantial from these.

90th minute: The fourth official has signalled there will be five minutes of additional time and now Romania are throwing everyone forward when they are attacking. But Albania are holding the ball in the corner every time they get a chance.

FT Albania have won their first ever game at a major tournament which means they finish 3rd in the group after a great display defensively. The dream can carry on for Albania, meanwhile, Romania will be going home, after many before the tournament suggested they would finish 3rd in the group they have really disappointed.

Man of the Match

Armando Sadiku

On such a historic night there can really only be one winner of this award. Armando Sadiku played well despite being isolated up front as he has mostly been all tournament and most importantly he got a firm header on the end of a perfectly weighted cross to seal Albania’s historic win.
