Matteo Darmian: Despite a promising start to life at Old Trafford. Matteo Darmian has found himself disillusioned at Manchester United. His form is constantly in question and he is permanently linked with a move away. Even though he has been in the side recently, due to the injury to Antonio Valencia, it is clear he is Jose Mourinho’s second choice in the right-back spot, it is a possibility Darmian could leave in order to increase his chances of getting back into the Italian national team.
Memphis: Memphis was another signing who perhaps disappointed last season. However, it is clear Memphis has exceptional talent and will become a top player, be that at Manchester United or elsewhere. Memphis is well down the pecking order at Old Trafford, backed up by the fact he has only 20 minutes to his name in the Premier League this season. Ronald Koeman has indicated he’d be willing to take the Dutchman on loan, could he revitalise his career at Everton?
Morgan Schneiderlin: Perhaps a little bit of a shame, but Schneiderlin simply hasn’t hit the heights that he did at Southampton, if he had, then there would be no doubts over the Frenchman and his inevitable place in the starting eleven. Six paltry minutes in the Premier League may have made his mind up for him in regards to stay at the club. What he does have on his side is the fact he is a very ‘Mourinho’ type player and possesses a lot of qualities the Portuguese likes. The likelihood is he will leave at the end of the season, which is unfortunate because as mentioned he is clearly talented.
Bastian Schweinsteiger: Another one of Louis van Gaal’s signings prior to the 2015/16 season. This initially looked a good deal on paper. £6million for one of the centuries greatest midfield players, a serial Bundesliga winner with Champions League medals and a World Cup to boot. Unfortunately, though, it hasn’t worked out for either party and despite his connection with fans, it’s almost fully clear Bastian Schweinsteiger won’t pull on a United jersey again and will head across the pond to the MLS.
Marcos Rojo: Despite looking much better in recent weeks in what seems to be a more favourable position at centre-back. Marcos Rojo just isn’t good enough for the first team and would likely be the first to go in most Manchester United fans’ opinions. With Chris Smalling, Eric Bailly, Phil Jones and Tim Fosu-Mensah available in that position as well as Regan Poole and Axel Tuanzebe emerging, there may not be a future for the Argentine.
