Welcome, a very merry TFFmas from all of us here at the blog. As we head into the holiday season, there is plenty to look forward to both on the pitch and off it and we are looking forward to the month ahead. This December we will be running the 25 Days of TFFmas, every day up until the big day we will be publishing Christmas wishlists from members of our team for what they would like their club to get for Christmas.

It’s just under two weeks until Christmas, so what better place to go than our noisy neighbours Scotland for an interview with Murray Grant about what he wants Inverness Caledonian Thistle to get this Christmas.

The Club:

Inverness had an impressive 2015/16 Scottish Premiership season, finish top of the bottom half in 7th, but without the split (which I still don’t understand to this day) would’ve finished as high as 5th. This season, however, things are different. They’ve struggled thus far and, although they are the only team to take points of Celtic this season (all stats are after 16 games (13 for Celtic)), they sit bottom of the table on goal difference and face a real relegation battle this season.

The 2015 winners of the Scottish FA Cup will hope for the same success, being drawn away to Elgin City in the fourth round, a tie anyone would expect them to win. Their run in the Scottish League Cup was brief though after being knocked out in the round of 16 by Scottish League One side, Alloa Athletic. Although, Celtic did await them in the next round, so the optimism of a potential trophy may have swiftly been put to bed.

Wish 1: Defence Injuries to be resolved

“A team on a very small budget is always going to hit problems when injuries occur. However we are always bringing in free transfers to cover, we just need some cheap players to fill the bench and can have a little bit of quality for a few games if required.” One player, who has been injured for 20 games according to TransferMarkt, is Kevin McNaughton who was signed in the summer, but has only made one league appearance for Caley so far.

Wish 2: Liam Polworth as CAM

“Since the turn of the year, Greg Tansey has been below average, he needs to be treated the same as the others and dropped to get a lesson. A CDM partnership of Vigurs and Draper is perfect, Polwarth CAM and King & Mulraney out wide.”

Wish 3: Richie Foran to shave his beard

“It looked very good before it became a thick bush. It looks ridiculous now, like a hobos to be honest. It looked very good before and a wee trim and guaranteed safety from his all I wish.”

From what I can see, I quite like it, I don’t think he should shave it at all! If Murray gets his way, though, this is how we should expect Foran to be looking post-Christmas.
