After losing on Friday night, Warren Joyce and the Latics players will be even more determined to get the win against Norwich City.
Wigan Athletic’s loss against Sheffield Wednesday on Friday night was a massive blow in Latics survival battle, even more bad news came on Saturday for Latics fans as Blackburn, Bristol City and Burton all picked up victories, leaving Wigan back down in 23rd and six points adrift of safety.
Meanwhile, Norwich picked up a 1-0 victory against Cardiff City, putting them only one position behind a play-off spot.
This will be the sixth meeting between the two sides at the DW Stadium and in the previous five, the Latics have won once, Norwich picked up the win earlier on in the season at Carrow Road, narrowly beating Wigan 2-1 after Adam Bogdan made an absolute howler of a mistake.
Someone who could start for Norwich, who might not get the best of receptions at the DW Stadium, is Yanic Wildschut. The Dutch winger who left Wigan for Norwich on deadline day was a favourite at Latics until he made his move.
Warren Joyce has told the media that we don’t have any more injuries from Friday night. Joyce has also stated that some of the new arrivals at the club and some of the players who have been out with long-term injuries, will be having their fitness assessed for the game on Tuesday night.
Alex Neil has said that Steven Naismith’s is a doubt due to a hamstring injury. Youssouf Mulumbu hasn’t trained much but he could be forced to play as Alex Tettey is still injured. However, Neil was quick to reassure fans that he has adequate replacements.
