Vanarama National League side Solihull Moors have signed Tamworth captain Paul Green.
Solihull finished five points above the relegation spots last season, and manager Liam McDonald has already made additions to his squad with the signing of Green.
A former Aston Villa academy prodigy, Green is a versatile player capable of playing as a midfielder or defender. The 30-year-old can also score goals when required, something Solihull fans will know after he converted twice against them on Boxing Day 2015.
A change in management at Villa Park meant first team chances became limited, therefore Green made the switch to Lincoln City, where he became a key part of the Imps’ squad in their Sky Bet League Two years.
Next stop for Green proved to be Tamworth for a year, before moving again to Forest Green Rovers. He moved back to Tamworth in 2014 and became the Club captain.
Speaking about his switch to the Moors, Green stated: “I am really excited to have joined Solihull Moors. I played in the same Tamworth team as Liam McDonald and his vision of the future here is something I would like to be a part of. It is a youthful team full of quality but my experience should help.
“First and foremost I want to be part of a squad that brings excitement and happiness to the fans – that is what football is all about. I cannot wait to get back to work!”
