TFF Bristol Rovers blogger Joe Moon recently had a chat with exciting academy prospect and Wales Under-15 captain Luc Noble to chat about everything from his first team aspirations to Tom Lockyer’s recent inclusion in the Wales senior squad.

J: Joe
L: Luc

J: Hi Luc, You recently captained Wales under 15’s against Switzerland and Belgium, how did you find that experience?

L: It was a good test playing against some of Europe’s top players. We came away with some difficult results but it was a great feeling captaining my Country for the first time.

J: Rovers first team Captain and academy graduate Tom Lockyer has recently been called up by the Welsh senior squad, just how inspiring is it to see players like him and Ellis Harrison making the step up from the academy?

L: To see a local boy like Ellis Harrison come from the same city as me and do well in the first team really inspires me and players my age to strive to do well. Also what an amazing opportunity for Tom Lockyer to be involved with Chris Coleman’s squad and one day I hope to do the same, whilst captaining Rovers first team.

J: The academy has a long and successful history of producing first team players, what do you feel is special about the youth set-up of the club?

L: I feel that the coaches and staff give us players the best opportunities to play in different game situations such as development games and competitive games; this gives us all the chance to have more of a competitive edge so when we progress further on it will happen to help us massively. Also the staff go to a lot of time and effort to see our strengths and weaknesses so we can developed as a player on and off the pitch.

J: And finally Luc, you’re entering an important season in your development into a professional footballer, but what are your personal goals for the upcoming campaign?

L: I hope to aim for that scholarship at the end of the season and then get into the Under-16 victory shield squad with Wales. Big season ahead but I’m currently back in with a trainer getting my fitness back up to a good standard.
