Newcastle: A message to Mike Ashley

After a disastrous deadline day, Newcastle fans have been left furious by the incompetence of the board.

First of all, I know Ashley won’t see this it’s just an article of questions that need to be addressed. One thing that was absolutely infuriating was the “I can’t afford to compete with Manchester City” quote. Newcastle fans don’t expect £200 million signings every summer, only £30 million would be enough to plug the gaps in our squad. Surely a man worth over £3 billion can afford to write a £30 million cheque.

Because of the pure incompetence of the board, Benitez’s job is under fire as there is a good chance he will walk. It’s so easy to keep him happy, just give him money to chase transfer targets and we’ll win matches it’s as simple as that. But of course, Charnely and Ashley had to make it difficult by scrounging for every last penny. How Mike Ashley ever became a billionaire, let alone a millionaire, is beyond me. The man knows absolutely nothing about business. If he wants to make money he needs to invest money for the club to stay up to make more money.

At this point, Mike Ashley’s time is up. He cannot get the fans back on the same page as him. This can slowly devolve into a very toxic atmosphere like you see at Arsenal. One of the most annoying things is that he is willing to sell the club, but only for £400 million. Who in their right mind is going to pay 400 million pounds for a newly promoted, unestablished Premier League club? Someone with more money than sense.

Every single Premier League club has broken their transfer record in the past 2/3 years. But not Newcastle. Their transfer record was last broken in 2005 with Michael Owen, and what a brilliant transfer he was.

Mike Ashley thanks for two relegations in 10 years, but it’s time to go.
