Sunday 10th at 4:00pm Newcastle United take on Swansea City live on Sky Sports at The Liberty Stadium. Here is how I predict the game will play out.

Newcastle got their first win of the season in an impressive 3-0 win against West Ham United on the 26th of August. While Swansea stand 14th just one point above Newcastle; after a draw to Southampton, loss against Manchester United and a win over Crystal Palace.

Both teams will be looking for the three points, and know it won’t be easy. However, Swansea made some vital signings during the summer transfer window, who will have a chance to start against the Magpies on Sunday. With Wilfried Bony re-joining and 20-year-old Renato Sanches joining on loan from Bayern Munich. Swansea had a good transfer window which may be a game changer, however. With these signings starting it may play in Newcastle’s advantage. As Bony hasn’t had much game time in the past three years as well as Sanches being new to the Premier League. This could be an issue for Swansea as it has been seen to happen to many different players. However despite this Swansea’s team still looks strong with Ayew who is fit to play and new boy Tammy Abraham who had a very impressive season last year with Bristol City scoring 26 goals:

On the other hand, The Mags didn’t have a great transfer window. However played well against West Ham who are currently sitting bottom of the Premier League after just three games. New boy Mikel Merino having an outstanding game and Joselu scoring, The Toon team looked quite in shape. Although they have just announced the injury of defender Chancel Mbemba who played a crucial part in the win. Along with defenders Florian Lejeune, Paul Dummett and DeAndre Yedlin Newcastle short at the back.

My Opinion

In my opinion, both teams will struggle. Each team will have their own dominance. With Newcastle lacking defenders and strength along the back, I believe Swansea will capitalise upon this. I also believe the Toon will take advantage of Sanches being a new and pressure him. If Newcastle attack and manage to maintain the ball and keep it at their pace I believe they will edge a win. If the game is even or Newcastle just put 10-men behind the ball I believe it will end in a draw.

My prediction is 2-1 to Newcastle.
