According to reports, Alexis Sanchez could be part of a swap deal in January which would see him go to PSG and Julian Draxler come to Arsenal.
Alexis Sanchez’s time at Arsenal could come to an end in January with the club interested in a swap deal which would see PSG’s Julian Draxler come to the Emirates, according to The Daily Star.
Sanchez’s Arsenal contract expires at the end of the current season and he has already rejected a new deal with the Gunners.
Manchester City were very close to signing the Chilean for £60m on deadline day but Arsenal were unable to lure Thomas Lemar to the Emirates as a replacement.
In recent games, Sanchez has cut a frustrated figure and often seems fed up and disinterested during matches.
The potential swap deal comes about as Arsenal remain determined not to sell Sanchez to a direct Premier League rival.
This deal would be beneficial for Arsenal, because instead of losing Sanchez for nothing next summer, they will replace him with a younger, very talented player who is an excellent replacement.
Arsene Wenger has a long-standing admiration of Julian Draxler and Arsenal have been linked to him in almost every transfer window for the last few years.
Draxler only joined PSG in January but he has fallen down the pecking order following the arrivals of Neymar and Kylian Mbappe.
A new challenge in North London could be just what Draxler needs. With Arsenal stars seemingly growing disgruntled with Sanchez, after he failed to attend a media day last month, his departure could be best for all parties.
