According to reports, Mike Ashley is hoping for a “quick sale” and is willing to drop the asking price to around £380million. Reports suggest that four different organisations look interested in Newcastle. However, the main interest stems from Amanda Staveley; a British businesswoman who oversees a portfolio worth £28billion. She attended the latest Newcastle game and also had a meeting with Rafa Benitez after the 1-1 draw with Liverpool. This got everyone talking about a potential takeover.

Amanda is interested in taking over Newcastle through her business firm PCP Capital Partners and is currently in talks with Rafa Benitez, as well as deciding if she wants to make a formal bid. However, she has also made enquires into Liverpool.

With`Amanda’s appearance at the Newcastle v Liverpool game everyone in Tyneside and Merseyside are talking about the potential takeover. Who will take over Newcastle? Will Amanda be the next Newcastle owner?

My Opinion

Personally, I believe that if Amanda becomes in as Newcastle owner it will benefit greatly. I believe that she will bring a lot of money and players. Which hopefully could lead to Newcastle winning something. I think under Mike Ashley Newcastle will go nowhere. This takeover will hopefully be a fantastic thing for Newcastle. This will provide a good and secure future in the Premier League.
