Liverpool talented youngster Joe Gomez achieves childhood ambitions after getting surprise debut for England.

Joe Gomez, 20, has reached the top of professional football by representing England on the world stage against the two top ranked teams in world football, Germany and Brazil.

Gomez came off the bench on Friday against Germany to replace Phil Jones. The solid centre back produced a promising performance but still has many things to learn before become the first name on the team sheet against top class players.

Joe Gomez, the following Tuesday, started against Brazil and was awarded man of the match for his outstanding performance. Joe Gomez was up against the world’s best player Neymar, and really limited Neymar to what he could do. According to many England and Liverpool fans, Gomez had the Brazilian star in his back pocket for the majority of the 90 minutes.

Joe Gomez told Charlton Athletic’s official website that “ It was a dream come true, … I just want to keep playing and hopefully it will be the first of many.” Hopefully Gomez continues to impress and becomes a regular England starter.
