Newcastle need a win after losing the last three games. But will it be the Watford game that gives the toon the three points they need? Is Dwight Gayle finding form? Will Merino play?

In the past couple of days a lot of news has been surrounding Newcastle regarding the possible takeover. This  could be finalised within the next week, however Newcastle have a game on Saturday at 3:00pm against Watford at St. James’ Park which must be Rafa Benitez and the players main focus.

Newcastle have only won one of their last seven games, a 1-0 win against Crystal Palace. Saturday is a crucial game for Newcastle, three points are needed for the magpies in order to stay in a mid-table position. Currently Newcastle sit 11th on 14 points just 5 points above West Ham United who are sitting 18th, with the threat of dropping further down if results go against them. On the other hand if Newcastle win they would be on 17points putting them in a much better position, this could land them in 9th place if Brighton lose to Manchester United.

Newcastle have the home advantage but everyone knows it won’t be an easy game. The players must give their all in-order for the magpies to come out with anything other than a loss. Although it seems Dwight Gayle may have hit a good run, scoring against Manchester United and a goal the game before against Bournemouth which was controversially disallowed. In both games Gayle performed very well. As well as Gayle hitting form, Newcastle’s star man this season could return against Watford. Mikel Merino, who suffered a back injury has missed the last two games which were both losses. With Gayle looking like he is in good form and Merino returning, Newcastle could be in with a good chance of winning.
