Gareth Bale and Real Madrid president Florentino Perez have reached an agreement that will see him leave the La Liga club next summer.
Both parties have decided that it would be best if Gareth Bale leaves sunny Spain as his stay in Real Madrid has come to an end. According to Diario Gol, Bale has already agreed terms with the club during a meeting between president Florentino Perez and his agent Jonathan Barnett this week.
Bale has had another season blighted by injury and has made just 10 appearances in all competitions and hasn’t featured since the end of September. Despite his various injury problems, Perez hopes to regain most if not all of the then-world record £85million Los Blancos splashed out on the 28-year-old in 2013.
When Bale departs the Spanish capital, he only has one destination in mind: the Premier League. Manchester United and his former club Tottenham Hotspur are the main contenders for his signature. The Red Devils have been monitoring Bale and he is high on Jose Mourinho’s list of transfer targets. Mauricio Pochettino also refused to rule out a move for the former Spurs player next summer. However, with Perez wanting to recoup most of Bale’s transfer fee, the price could be a stumbling block.
