West Bromwich Albion haven’t won a Premier League match since August and are in the relegation zone. Manager Alan Pardew will look to Liverpool’s Danny Ings to provide some much-needed goals.
West Brom have been incredibly poor this season and find themselves in 19th place with 20 games played. They have sacked Tony Pulis and replaced him with Alan Pardew but results haven’t improved. The Baggies have to get a decent striker to score the goals that will hopefully keep them in the Premier League.
According to the Independent, Pardew believes that Ings could be the striker he is looking for and he is one of their top targets for January.
However, West Brom will face competition to sign Ings with fellow Premier League clubs West Ham, Newcastle and Stoke also interested in Liverpool’s forgotten man.
Since joining Liverpool from Burnley in June 2015, Ings has struggled with injuries and been unable to establish himself in Jurgen Klopp’s side on a regular basis.
West Brom’s top scorer this season, Salomon Rondon, has just three goals to his name which is nowhere near good enough. The Baggies have only scored 14 goals this campaign.
Perhaps goals from a fit Ings could provide competition for Rondon and save West Brom from the drop while giving Alan Pardew his first win since taking over from Tony Pulis. If they can beat the competition, Danny Ings could be a worthwhile acquisition for the Baggies.
