La Liga side Valencia have made a £12m offer for Arsenal midfielder Francis Coquelin.
Coquelin is no longer a regular starter at Arsenal and is interested in a move away to get his career back on track, according to Metro. The Gunners are prepared to sell him this month with Premier League clubs West Ham and Crystal Palace also keen.
Just one league start has left Coquelin believing that his future lies elsewhere. He has fallen down the pecking order, behind the likes of Jack Wilshere, Aaron Ramsey and Granit Xhaka.
In January 2017, Coquelin signed a new contract along with French compatriots Olivier Giroud and Laurent Koscielny. With three and a half years left on his contract, Arsenal will be looking to get around £12m for the midfielder.
The French midfielder joined Arsenal in 2008 and won the FA Youth Cup with the club a year later. He had various loan spells at Lorient, Freiburg and Charlton Athletic before breaking into Arsenal’s first team. He became a crucial player in Arsenal’s midfield alongside Santi Cazorla during the 2014/15 season.
Arsene Wenger left Coquelin out of his squad for the FA Cup third round defeat against Nottingham Forest. This seemed to suggest that Coquelin is set to leave Arsenal at some point this month.
