Who will finish Premier League top scorer?

As well as the Premier League title race each season, every campaign produces an exciting surge between the division’s best forwards to claim the coveted Golden Boot award for finishing top scorer.

This current campaign is no different, with a host of star strikers and mercurial attackers having produced an abundance of goals already throughout the course of a dramatic season so far. Manchester City are running away with the Premier League title under Spanish boss Pep Guardiola, having opened up a huge gap between them and the chasing pack, which includes closest challengers and bitter rivals Manchester United.

Although, the race for the Golden Boot is still only heating up, with many of the league’s in-form frontmen continuously finding the target each week for their respective clubs and firing themselves towards personal success this year. So, who are the leading contenders to finish with the prestigious award in 2018?

Harry Kane

Who else? Tottenham Hotspur ace Harry Kane has become a revelation since bursting onto the scene several seasons ago in the Europa League for his London employers.

The clinical frontman has gone from strength to strength and is now undoubtedly the best striker in the Premier League and also England’s main marksman upfront internationally. This bodes well for Gareth Southgate ahead of the 2018 World Cup in Russia, where the Three Lions will aim for some success abroad.

Spurs sharpshooter Kane has a third successive Golden Boot triumph within his sights in the top flight before donning his country’s colours again, though, and he is seen as the odds-on 2/5 frontrunner in the Premier League betting to be crowned as top scorer once again.

Mohamed Salah

Next up is Liverpool’s key man so far this season, Mo Salah. The talented Egypt international attacker has been in simply sublime form throughout the campaign for the Reds.

Jurgen Klopp’s Merseyside outfit have been reliant on their star man for some time now in attack, particularly now that Brazilian forward Philippe Coutinho has departed for Spanish giants Barcelona for a record £142 million fee.

The high-flying playmaker has been busy keeping on the heels of Kane in the top scorer charts and is regarded at 5/1 to claim a Golden Boot victory this season. It would be an impressive feat considering his position for the Reds compared to the likes of Kane and the next man on our list.

Sergio Aguero

When it comes to Premier League goal scoring, there are few, if any, better than Manchester City hitman Sergio Aguero. The in-form Argentine ace has been brilliant once again this term for Guardiola’s likely title winners, as they surge well in front of the chasing pack domestically.

Aguero is the 9/2 second-favourite to claim what would be his second Golden Boot prize in his Premier League career to date. The now 29-year-old previously prevailed in 2015, when he struck 26 times for the Citizens in 31 appearances during an admirable campaign.
