Manchester United Goalkeeper David De Gea is reportedly set to complete a £99m move to Real Madrid this summer, with Portugal international Cristiano Ronaldo being left stunned.
According to Spanish news outlet Don Balon, De Gea will complete his move to the Bernabeu after Florentino Perez raised his offer to £99m in order to land the shot-stopper.
The signing would be huge for Los Blancos, with De Gea arguably the best keeper in the world right now, and the 27-year-old would be a significant upgrade on current Madrid number one, Keylor Navas.
The Spanish paper go on to outline that 5 time Balon D’Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo sees the signing of De Gea as an impressive signing from Perez as well as a good piece for business for his agent, and close friend, Jorge Mendes, who will benefit massively financially from another big move from one of his clients.
As mentioned by Don Balon, De Gea was agonisingly close to signing for Madrid in 2015, when a broken fax machine meant that the deal collapsed on Deadline Day.
The talented keeper went on to sign a new deal at United and has improved to shine for the Red Devils this season, although there is little surprise that the Spaniard is set to return to his homeland.
