Recently, I was given a fantastic opportunity to interview Groundhopper and Youtuber Adam Thurston. Adam is a 20-year-old from Bristol who has been vlogging his matchday experiences from games such as Chelsea vs Manchester City in the Premier League to Team Solent vs South Shields in the FA Vase. Here’s what Adam had to say. Adam Thurston at Bath City vs Partick Thistle Pre-Season Friendly 2016. Bristol Rovers host West Yorkshire side, Bradford City this Saturday at the Memorial Stadium. Bradford City currently sit in 5th position in the table after drawing 2-2 with Gillingham last week. However, Rovers were pushed back down into 10th place after a goalless draw at Rochdale. http://gty.im/520036654 Previous Fixture: The two clubs have not played each other since the beginning of the season back in September 2016. The Pirates made the 200-mile journey up to the Valley Parade where Bradford defender, James Meredith put the Bantams 1-0 up after finishing with a header from Mark Marshall’s deflected shot. However, it wasn’t…

On the 19th of February 2016, an unexpected press conference was called at Bristol Rovers Memorial Stadium, long before this date fans would make wisecracks about a “Middle Eastern millionaire“ taking over the club but few Gasheads – even in their wildest dreams – actually imagined it becoming a reality. So it came as nothing more than a “pinch yourself” moment when the grinning figure of Wael Al-Qadi started appearing on social media feeds and national news websites. An instantly likeable figure from just his demeanour and clear knowledge of football, Al-Qadi or simply “Wael” as fans can be heard…

Former Bristol Rovers striker, Matty Taylor has been in the spotlight recently after becoming only the second player to move from Rovers to Championship side and rivals, Bristol City since 1987. http://gty.im/633199182 The uproar began on deadline day when Bristol City signed Bristol Rovers’ top goalscorer, Matty Taylor, for just £300,000. Once reality dawned, the reactions from the Bristol Rovers fans came as somewhat of a comedic act for the City. Some still did not believe that the signing was 100% true and continued to hope that it was just a hoax. Towards the summer transfer window back in 2016,  Taylor…

In a fiercely contested West Country Derby between Rovers and Swindon, a 29th-minute worldie from the magician that is Billy Bodin against his former club was the difference and gave Rovers their 5th home win in a row. Darrell Clarke made two changes to the side that lost 3-1 at Walsall last week, with Ellis Harrison replacing Rory Gaffney and Ryan Sweeney in for James Clarke to make his Rovers debut. Rovers dominated the first half, with Sweeney having a header cleared off the line and Bodin having a shot saved from point blank range. Just before the half-hour mark,…

Bristol Rovers face Swindon Town at the Memorial Stadium this Saturday. Their last match was at the County Ground, back in September, where Jermaine Easter’s pass to Ellis Harrison was accidentally blocked by Swindon Town defender, Rossi Branco, which put the Pirates 2-1 up in the 84th minute, two minutes after Matty Taylor’s penalty. http://gty.im/631159560 Form: Bristol Rovers have won just two of their previous five fixtures and are currently 10th in the league. However, Swindon Town are in worse form and have only won one of their last five games; a 2-1 win against Bolton Wonderers and currently sit…
