Manchester United Transfer Window So Far
Manchester United have bolstered their midfield ranks with signings of Bastian Schweinsteiger, Morgan Schneiderlin and Left midfielder Memphis Depay. Louis Van Gaal has also added to Manchester United’s defensive ranks with the signing of Matteo Darmian.
Louis Van Gaal’s first signing of the 201516 season was exciting prospect and Netherlands international Memphis Depay. The skilful winger teams back up with Louis Van Gaal after a fantastic season with PSV in the eredivise the 21 year old made 30 appearances and netted 22 times for PSV during the 201415 season he also registered five assists. Newcastle new boy Georginio Wijnaldum being a big part of Memphis’ success at the Dutch club.
The next addition to the squad was Italian right back Matteo Darmian, many Manchester United fans had never heard of Matteo until he signed for the club even though he played against England for Italy in euro 2012. The transfer fee is believed to be £12.7 million on a four year contract with the option of a further year. The 25 year old spent his youth career with Italian Giants AC Milan only playing for the senior team four times he then moved to Palermo and then one year later he moved to Torino where he made a name for himself.
LVG then signed two world class midfielders in one day! One being 2014 World Cup winner Bastian Schweinstiger for £15 million pounds which is a class piece of business from LVG. The experienced midfielder said upon arrival ‘I am here to win trophies’ which most football fans are confident of Manchester United to do so this season having improved their team drastically. In the same hour that Schweinstiger was announced Morgan Schneiderlin also signed for the Manchester club this is another great signing for the Red Devils but what does this mean for the other midfielders at the club, Man United already have Marouane Felliani, Juan Mata, Michael Carrick, Ander Herrera and Angel Di Maria all playing central midfield but not all of them will want to be sat on the sidelines for the majority of games, so it looks like LVG has a very competitive spot in his team and every player will want to fight for their place in the starting eleven.
In summary this looks to be a very promising season for the Red Devils with maybe a trophy on the cards. United arguably have one of the best midfields in the league which could take them that extra mile this season to push for the premier league once more the good times look to be back at Manchester United.
