La Liga Preview Friday and Saturday (Week 1)

Malaga vs Sevilla

This game is the opener of the La Liga season 2015-2016 and I anticipate the match to give a beautiful start to the new La Liga campaign. Both sides have changed significantly over this summer by bringing in a lot of fresh blood in the squads. It’ll take time for the newcomers to get used to their new environments but some great offensive football might be seen in this game yet. Malaga were a little bit boring for a couple of seasons but they should be more interesting to watch this time. Sevilla themselves had a busy summer by strengthening the squad. The squad already looked strong last season when the side won the Europa League trophy. All in all, I can only foresee goals as the hallmark of this Spanish top division’s inaugural game.
Prediction: Malaga 1-3 Sevilla

Deportivo vs Real Sociedad

Deportivo are without a win in four league meetings against Real Sociedad. But at the Riazor, Deportivo have only lost one of their last 10 La Liga meetings against Basque sides. But i still believe the quality in David Moyes side should pull through in the end.
Prediction: Deportivo 1-2 Real Sociedad

Espanyol vs Getafe

Espanyol have only won one of their last three home league meetings with Getafe, losing the other two which means that usually Getafe have Espanyol number when it comes to this fixture. But not this toss Espanyol will find a way to grab victory.
Prediction: Espanyol 1-0 Getafe

Atletico Madrid vs Las Palmas

Diego Simeone looks set to unleash his new-look attack on La Liga at the weekend, and Martinez should make his competitive debut from the start in the season opener.  Antoine Griezmann is likely to play close to the Colombian, which mean Vietto is likely to start the match on the bench, but Felipe Luis is in line for his second debut for the club at left-back. Araujo will be they key man for the visiting attack should Herrera decide to play with just one striker, while Alcaraz and Garrido are both set to make their debuts in defence. Las Palmas certainly have the attacking talent to cause a few shocks on their return to La Liga, but it would take a special performance for them to record victory on the opening day.
Prediction: Atletico Madrid 3-0 Las Palmas

Rayo Vallecano vs Valencia

Valencia CF officially started the new season few days ago when it faced AS Monaco at the Mestalla for the Champions league group qualification match, in which the team won 3-1 and is heading to the second leg of that series with a solid lead. Rayo Vallecano have had quite a lot of player flow this summer transfer window, with lots of players coming for free or on loan and basically over 10 players leaving from last season who were on loan there from various clubs. No significant names have arrived or departures though and since there has been so many changes to their team from last season, its hard to know what to expect from them this season.

Valencia might be a bit tired from the match against Monaco and we don’t know what to expect from Nuno in terms of which players he’ll field. Rayo Vallecano is also an unknown at this point, who knows how they will play.
Prediction: Rayo Vallecano 1-2 Valencia
