TFF FC Interview #4 -“I 100% don’t regret it” - Coach Ryan White

With Andrew Cliff begining to shape his backroom staff for the TFF FC charity matches, we caught up with the first player-coach Ryan White to discuss all things TFF.

Q1. Are you happy to pen a deal with TFF FC?                                                                                                  A: Indeed, when the opportunity came up I jumped at the chance and I 100% don’t regret it.

Q2. As the only out-and-out RB in the squad, do you want to lock that position down indefinitely?
A: Well I would like to think I’m the strongest candidate in the position but I’d be willing to allow others the chance to prove themselves at right-back if need be.

Q3. As the only known Scotsman in the squad, do you think that will cause a rift in the squad?
A: I personally don’t have a problem with any nationality, if the others cause a problem I’ll deal with it in a professional manner.

Q4. As one of the player-coaches alongside Harry Sherman, do you feel you need to have the strongest relationship with him?                                                                                                                       A: It’s always important to have a strong relationship with your backroom staff. I haven’t met him yet but I’m sure we’ll get along just fine.

Q5. Do you have faith in the manager and in the squad?                                                                              A: Yes – They all have fantastic personalities, they all know what they’re doing. Despite the manager’s lack of managerial experience, he has shown the signs to be a strong leader and manager.

Q6. What are your expectations for this team?                                                                                                 A: I don’t expect anything from his team apart from a 100 per cent effort work ethic.

Q7.  Do you feel the captaincy choices of Josh Keeble-Wells and Kieran Masters are wise ones?
A: I have trust in Kieran but me and Josh have our differences, I hope we can put them aside however.

Q8: As a coach, do you need to try and get the players match fit before the games?                 A: Most definitely, I trust that the players carry the responsibility of getting themselves match fit though. If they don’t have that commitment then they don’t deserve to be starting.

Q9 What do you see as our best starting XI?                                                                                                 A: It’s impossible to say to be honest, on paper every player deserves to be starting so for me it’s a very difficult question to answer.
