Scott Bartlett Announced As Weston-super-Mare’s New Head Coach

Forest Green Head of youth Scott Bartlett has been announced as the new Weston-super-Mare Head Coach, ending two weeks of constant speculation from the Weston faithful. Former manager Ryan Northmore was sacked the day after a 2-1 loss to North Leigh in the FA Cup 2nd Qualifying Round.

Will Weston hit top gear under Bartlett?

Caretaker manager Jon Haile oversaw a 3-0 loss to National League South table toppers Maidenhead United in a spirited display, before watching his side triumph in a 7-0 outing against Shepton Mallet in the first round of the Somerset Premier Cup. The Weston side will be spirited upon the new manager’s appointment and performances are expected to continue improving as Weston look to get back on track after a poor run of form.

Scott Bartlett is a Salisbury City legend, where he featured over 400 times for the Whites. Bartlett also enjoyed a 100-game career at Cirencester, where he came through their academy, before enjoying stints at Weston-super-Mare and Bath City. At the end of the 2015-2016 season, Bartlett took charge on a caretaker basis of Forest Green Rovers, where he led them to Wembley for the Conference Playoff Final but couldn’t get them into League 2.

Bartlett will continue in his role as Head of the Academy at Forest Green Rovers as his day job.
