5 things Newcastle fans want for Christmas

With Christmas once again on our doorsteps, things are looking rosy for fans of Newcastle United. Top at Christmas and with Rafa Benitez in charge of the Magpies, it’s a very merry Christmas for fans.

However, like a spoiled child on Christmas, there are some presents which United fans would like to make the New Year just a bit better. Here are 5 things Newcastle fans would love to be unwrap on Christmas morning:

A Return to Premier League football…obviously                                                                                                                      2016 has been a tough year for Newcastle with the drop to the Championship not a welcome addition to the Magpies, It has been seen by many to be a real inconvenience with the arrival of Rafa Benitez hinting at a return to the glory days. So obviously in 2017, United fans would like to see the team back in the Premier League under the control of Rafa Benitez which would certainly be as mouth-watering as the Christmas turkey to many Magpie fans.                                                                                                                                                                http://gty.im/176924631

A Big Transfer Budget for January                                                                                                                                          Whilst many may think there is not a lot to improve in the United squad, it would be nice to see Benitez be allowed to spend some money in January to continue to shape Newcastle into what he wants it to be. Hopefully this will lead to more exciting additions to the side to keep competition for places ripe. While also being able to see more exciting January signings like last year when names such as Andros Townsend and Jonjo Shelvey arrived at the club.

Rafa Benitez to Stay Forever                                                                                                                                                       Newcastle United were in a mess this time last year with Steve McClaren in charge. The Magpies were in freefall down the Premier League and many of his summer signings failed to deliver to their expensive price tags. However, the new year gave us hope with the sacking of McClaren and the hiring of Benitez whilst he was unable to save us from Steve’s handy work, Rafa set about the club revolutionising it and finally bringing out of its own exodus from the world. He has brought a new found optimism and hope back to a set of fans which had long had none and finally United seem to be on track. There is only one key to this and that is Rafa Benitez which means that Newcastle must fight hard to keep a hold of him even if Premier League clubs come a calling.

Dwight Gayle to keep up his goal scoring form

Dwight Gayle has been a revelation so far this season, his 17 league goals this season have gone a long way to help Newcastle to top of the Championship and there is a lot to be admired about the young Englishman. So, it is important for Newcastle fans that he continues to keep scoring this season his wonderful finish against Burton this weekend demonstrated just how good he really is and it would be great for him to prove the Crystal Palace doubters wrong by going on to win the golden boot.

To see Sunderland finally relegated                                                                                                                                 Sunderland seasonal escape from relegation is starting to become boring, we say this because we are their greatest rivals however surely the rest of the league must also see that. Defoe screamers, wins against top teams  and whole big dollop of luck have seen the Black Cats seem to constantly avoid relegation like a victim avoiding an assassin however this year it looked like this might change with no win in any of their first 10 games it was beginning to look like the luckiest team on Earth was finally running out of steam. However, like a phoenix they have seemingly shown signs of rising from the ashes once again with convincing wins over Hull and Watford. Despite this, the Mags as we’re called by them lot would love to see this luck to run out and for Sunderland to finally fall flat on their faces especially after last seasons many taunts and would really be the icing on the cake.
