Arsenal have won two of their last five Premier League games. Wenger switched to three at the back against Middlesbrough and also against Manchester City in the FA Cup, both matches resulted in victory for the Gunners. Wenger is determined for his Arsenal side to finish in the top four again this season. In order to do this, he believes they must go on a “perfect run-in” until the end of the season.
Leicester City have won three of their last five Premier League games and have only lost once since sacking Claudio Ranieri. The Foxes are currently 15th but could go as high as 11th with a win over Arsenal. Following their Champions League defeat against Atletico Madrid, the team are fully focused on domestic affairs. Danny Simpson has discussed Leicester’s ambitions for the rest of the season saying: “We want to finish as high as we can.”
Arsenal have no new injuries. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain left Wembley on crutches but Wenger insists this was precautionary. The midfielder will be tested will be tested before the fixture and could still feature.
Leicester’s captain Wes Morgan is out with a hamstring injury. Islam Slimani is still out with a groin strain. After having surgery on his ankle, midfielder Papy Mendy will miss the rest of the season.
Both teams will want to win this match and go on a run to end their respective seasons on a high. My prediction is Arsenal 2-1 Leicester City.
